Bridge and guardrail repair on I-90 - The Berkshire Edge

Overnight guardrail repair operations and daytime bridge repair work will take place on I-90 both eastbound and westbound in Otis, Lee, Becket, and Stockbridge at different times and locations from 8 p.m. on Sunday, September 18, through 5 a.m. on Friday, September 23.

Berkshire County — The Massachusetts Department of Transportation (MassDOT) is announcing that it will be conducting overnight guardrail repair operations and daytime bridge repair work on I-90 eastbound and westbound in Otis, Lee, Becket, and Stockbridge. The work will be conducted at different times and locations from 8 p.m. on Sunday, September 18, through 5 a.m. on Friday, September 23. Lane closures will be in place during repair operations.

The schedule for the work and lane closures will be as follows:

In Otis, guardrail repair work will be conducted nightly on I-90 eastbound and westbound at mile marker 22.6, mile marker 24.0, and mile marker 26.4 from Sunday, September 18, through Tuesday, September 20, from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m. the next morning. The overnight hour work is expected to conclude by 5 a.m. on Tuesday, September 20.

In Lee and Becket, guardrail repair work will be conducted nightly on I-90 eastbound and westbound from mile marker 8.0 to mile marker 18.0 from Monday, Sept. 19, through Friday, September 23, from 7 p.m. to 5 a.m. the next morning. The overnight hour work is expected to conclude by 5 a.m. on Friday, September 23.

In Stockbridge, bridge repair work will be conducted on I-90 eastbound and westbound at mile marker 4.5 on Wednesday, September 21, and on Thursday, September 22, from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Travel will be allowed through the work zones. The work will require temporary lane closures to allow crews to safely and efficiently conduct the guardrail and bridge repair operations.

Appropriate signage, law enforcement details, and messaging will be in place to guide drivers through the work area.

Drivers who are traveling through the affected areas should expect delays, reduce speed, and use caution. All scheduled work is weather dependent and subject to change without notice.
