Lucid Group has set a number of firsts with its first electric vehicle (EV), the Lucid Air. Now the automaker has set another by issuing its first recall.

According to an email sent to Lucid Air owners, the recall impacts 203 vehicles and is related to strut dampers that may not have been installed correctly due to an error by the supplier.

“This condition may result in a sudden loss of ground clearance, vehicle vibration and front brake line damage, increasing the risk of a crash,” the email stated (via Bloomberg)

Lucid says the defect could increase the likelihood of a collision, but has received no reports of any strut damper failures in any of its vehicles.

The automaker will inspect the strut dampers on impacted vehicles, and if necessary replace them at no cost to owners.

The issue is estimated to impact only 1% of the 203 vehicles that form part of the recall.

The recall has not yet appeared on the NHTSA Recall database.
